Bach to Rock® Herndon is hiring a Music Instructor, and we're keeping the door wide open on instrument. If you teach guitar, piano/keys, drums, voice, bass, ukulele, strings, brass, woodwinds, songwriting, or production, and you can light up a 7-year-old beginner and a 14-year-old, keep reading.

This is W-2, part-time work in a real studio at the WorldGate Centre, with musician-friendly hours, a 401(k), and a steady stream of students who actually want to be there.

Who we're looking for
You're a working musician or music educator who genuinely loves teaching kids and teens. You can play your primary instrument confidently across rock, pop, jazz, and at least one "lesson book" tradition (classical, blues, or method-book). You read a room, your energy with a 7-year-old beginner doesn't sound the same as your energy with a 14-year-old who's been playing for two years. You return texts, you show up on time, and you keep clean lesson notes.

Bonus points if you're multi-instrumental, teaching two or more of guitar, bass, piano, ukulele, drums, voice, or production lets us build you a fuller schedule.

What you'll do
You'll teach 30-minute private lessons using B2R's structured curriculum and 500+ song library, from Beethoven to Beyoncé, ZZ Top to Tchaikovsky to Jay-Z. You'll meet each student where they are, choose songs that actually motivate them, and track progress lesson by lesson. You'll help students get stage-ready for Bachapalooza, Battle of the Bands, Music Showcase, and recitals, and, if you're up for it, coach a Rock Band, take on a summer camp, or lead a party. You'll communicate proactively with parents of younger students and collaborate with a tight-knit team that has each other's backs when a sub is needed or a student needs a confidence boost.

Why Bach to Rock
We handle marketing, scheduling, booking, and billing so you can focus on what you do best: teach, mentor, and play. You'll work in a professional studio. No garage lessons, no driving from one student's living room to the next. You'll have a step-by-step curriculum already built for you, real performance opportunities for your students, and a path to grow into bands, camps, ensembles, and lead roles. We're locally owned and operated by Metrobilly Ventures, Inc., and we run with the support and structure of a nationally recognized brand. Bottom line: this is a team of musicians who teach, and teachers who perform.

What we offer

  • W-2 employment that provides consistent, reliable pay (rare in private music education)
  • 401(k), rare benefit for part-time music educators
  • Flexible scheduling that respects your life as a working artist
  • Tier-based pay $17–$25/hr based on credentials, experience, and student outcomes
  • Paid training on the B2R curriculum and lesson tools
  • Staff discounts on programs and services
  • A real growth path into bands, camps, ensembles, lead-instructor mentorship
What we expect
You're proficient on at least one primary instrument (intermediate-advanced minimum) and can teach multiple styles. You have some teaching experience, formal or informal, and you genuinely like working with kids and teens. You have reliable transportation to Herndon, you can clear a background check, and you can commit to consistent afternoon, evening, and/or weekend hours.
