EARLY CHILDHOOD MUSIC EDUCATOR
Bach to Rock Herndon | $17–$25/hr | Mornings, afternoons, and Saturdays
━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

YOU LOVE TEACHING YOUNG CHILDREN

You light up around three-year-olds. You know how to read a room of toddlers. You've spent enough time with kids ages 1–7 to know what works (movement, repetition, story, song) and what doesn't (sitting still, complex instructions, anything longer than 5 minutes).

You also have musical skills; maybe formal training, maybe years of singing in choir, maybe self-taught piano or guitar; and you've been looking for a teaching role that lets you actually use them.

That role exists at Bach to Rock Herndon.

━━━ WHAT YOU'LL TEACH ━━━

We run four early childhood music programs at our Herndon studio:

🌟 ROCK N ROLL (ages 1–3): A 45-minute parent-and-child music class. Sing-alongs, story time, simple instruments, movement. Caregivers stay in the room.
🌟 ROCK CITY® (ages 3–5): Our preschool group class. 45 minutes of storytelling-based music exploration where each musical concept (loud/soft, fast/slow, high/low) is connected to a children's story.
🌟 KIDS N KEYS (ages 5–7): A 45-minute group piano class for up to five kids. Basic finger placement, simple melodies, and early music theory through familiar songs.
🌟 FUN WITH MUSIC (ages 6–7): A 45-minute exploratory class where early elementary kids try piano, guitar, percussion, ukulele, and voice in a low-pressure social setting.

You'll teach 4 to 8 of these classes per week based on your availability and class enrollment. We'll start you in the program(s) you're most comfortable with and grow your assignments from there.

━━━ WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR ━━━

You probably check most of these boxes:

👶 Direct, hands-on experience teaching or leading children ages 1–7. Preschool, daycare, music classes, summer camp, after-school programs, parent-and-child classes, or experience as a parent/caregiver. The more direct, the better.
🎹 Functional music skills. You can play piano OR guitar/ukulele well enough to accompany simple children's songs, AND you can sing in tune with confidence in front of a group.
👨‍👩‍👧 Comfort with parents in the room (Rock n Roll classes always have parents present. Other classes have parents picking up and dropping off).
🌈 Patience that doesn't run out, warmth that doesn't fake, energy that lasts 45 minutes.
🚗 Reliable transportation to our Herndon studio (WorldGate Centre).
✅ 18+, willing to pass a background check, authorized to work in the U.S.

━━━ WHY US (FOR EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATORS, SPECIFICALLY) ━━━

  • A real curriculum already built. You don't have to design from scratch each week. You personalize and lead.
  • Small class sizes (typically 3–6 kids). Every child gets your attention.
  • A studio with quality instruments, props, and visual materials already in place.
  • A supportive team that includes other EC educators and working musicians, not isolated like many preschool roles.
  • Pay $17–$25/hr based on experience and credentials.
  • W-2 employment; taxes handled, real paycheck - 401(k) with match.
  • Flexible scheduling that respects your other commitments (family, second job, school).
  • Parent communication tools handled by our software. You teach, we handle the messaging logistics.
  • Clear growth path: lead instructor, summer camp lead, EC program coordinator.
