Viola Teacher | Bach to Rock® Music School — Herndon, VA

Bach to Rock® Music School in Herndon, VA is looking for a passionate Viola Teacher to join our growing team of musician-educators. If you love the viola and love working with students, this is the role for you.

Viola teachers are a rare and genuinely valuable find — and we know it. At Bach to Rock, we celebrate the instrument and the educators who champion it. You'll teach private one-on-one viola lessons to students of all ages and skill levels in our professional Worldgate Centre studio, using our student-first curriculum as your foundation while bringing your own musical voice to every lesson.

What You'll Do:

  • Teach private viola lessons from complete beginner through advanced
  • Incorporate diverse styles — classical, contemporary, pop, folk, and beyond
  • Build lesson plans around each student's goals and musical interests
  • Maintain clear, proactive communication with parents of younger students
  • Contribute to a supportive, professional school culture
Schedule & Availability:

  • Weekday afternoons and evenings (approx. 3PM–9PM)
  • Saturdays (9AM–5PM)
  • Flexible scheduling around your performance and ensemble commitments
Compensation — Tiered by Experience (W-2 Hourly):

  • Tier 1 — Entry/Developing Instructor: $17–$18/hr
  • Tier 2 — Established Instructor: $18–$20/hr
  • Tier 3 — Advanced/Specialist Instructor: $20–$22/hr
  • Tier 4 — Senior/Expert Instructor: $22–$25/hr
Who We're Looking For:

  • Strong viola proficiency with a broad stylistic foundation
  • Teaching experience preferred — open to emerging instructors with the right passion
  • Patient, warm, and encouraging with students of all ages
  • Reliable transportation to Herndon, VA
  • Must pass a background check
