Violin Teacher | Bach to Rock® Music School — Herndon, VA

Are you a skilled violinist with a passion for teaching? Bach to Rock® Music School in Herndon, VA is looking for an enthusiastic Violin Teacher to join our team of professional musician-educators at our studio in the Worldgate Centre.

At Bach to Rock, students don't just learn technique — they learn the music they actually love. Whether that's classical, pop, folk, fiddle, or film scores, our student-first approach makes lessons exciting for students of all ages. You'll teach private one-on-one violin lessons to students ranging from young beginners (ages 5+) through adults, in a fun, professional, and supportive school environment.

What You'll Do:

  • Teach private violin lessons across all skill levels — beginner through advanced
  • Draw on a broad range of styles: classical, contemporary, pop, folk, fiddle, and more
  • Use Bach to Rock's structured curriculum as a foundation while personalizing lessons to each student's goals and musical interests
  • Track student progress and maintain open communication with parents
  • Bring energy, warmth, and genuine enthusiasm to every lesson
Schedule & Availability:

  • Weekday afternoons and evenings (approx. 3PM–9PM)
  • Saturdays (9AM–5PM)
  • Flexible — we work around your performance and ensemble commitments
Compensation — Tiered by Experience (W-2 Hourly):

  • Tier 1 — Entry/Developing Instructor: $17–$18/hr
  • Tier 2 — Established Instructor: $18–$20/hr
  • Tier 3 — Advanced/Specialist Instructor: $20–$22/hr
  • Tier 4 — Senior/Expert Instructor: $22–$25/hr
Your tier is determined by your education, teaching history, and performance background — and there's a clear path to grow.

Who We're Looking For:

  • Strong violin proficiency — classical foundation with openness to multiple styles strongly preferred
  • Prior teaching experience is a plus, but we welcome emerging instructors with the right drive
  • Comfortable and patient with students of all ages, especially young beginners
  • Reliable transportation to our Herndon studio
  • Must pass a background check
