About Bach to Rock Herndon

Bach to Rock Herndon is a modern music school where students learn through private instruction and performance opportunities. We teach kids, teens, and adults in a professional, upbeat environment.

Position Overview
We are hiring a Piano and Keys Instructor to teach private lessons in traditional piano fundamentals as well as contemporary styles when appropriate. This is an excellent role for an instructor comfortable teaching reading based instruction and popular repertoire.

Responsibilities

Teach private lessons on piano and keyboard.

Develop student fundamentals including technique, reading, rhythm, chord vocabulary, and repertoire.

Use structured practice systems including slow practice, counting, and measurable goals.

Prepare students for recitals and performances.

Communicate clearly with families about expectations and progress.

Requirements

Strong piano proficiency.

Teaching or youth leadership experience preferred.

Professional, reliable, and consistent availability.

Reliable transportation.

Process / Pay

Phone interview → audition + mock lesson → offer contingent on background check
Tiered hourly pay: $17–$22/hr (Tier 1–3)

Compensation: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour

Bach to Rock (“B2R”) Herndon is a modern, performance-based music school offering private lessons, group classes, bands and ensembles, early childhood programs, camps, and community events. We teach students from early childhood through adults across many instruments and styles, combining structured music education with real-world performance opportunities.

Our team includes instructors, early childhood educators, band coaches, camp and event staff, and front desk/admin support. We value professionalism, reliability, and a genuine love for working with kids and families.
